How
do I know what operator - door opener to choose?
Electric, Counterweight,
Magnetic, Air-Powered. A lot to choose from. Factors to consider; location of
the operator, in the attic or mechanical room, in a high moisture area, constant
change in temperature, high-cycle rate (open and closing of the door) maintenance
frequency, weight of the door and of course, budget.
How
do I measure overhead space?
The distance from the top of the door
opening to the ceiling is your overhead door space.
What
is the difference between a Full Vision Section and a Polycarbonate Section?
Visibility. A full vision Section (UltraClear) allows you to see clearly through
the panel with less insulation. A polycarbonate tri-cell panel offers a R4 insulation
value and stronger panel.
Plexiglas,
Polycarbonate, Lexan... What's the difference?
Strength and brittleness.
Cost is a factor also. Our polycarbonate panels are stronger and have a higher
R-value but visibility is less, about 83%. Lexan and Plexiglas have a higher visibility
but is not as hard..
Why
should I choose stainless steel over galvanized track?
Durability.
Contrary to what you might think, galvanized track will rust over time. Galvanizing
is a zinc coating on a steel part. Galvanization will wear off. Stainless Steel
is steel that has chromium and sometimes nickel that still remains as the track
wears down. Galvanized track is still a great choice if you are on a budget and
don't anticipate extremely high moisture.
How
an I customize my door to my facility?
American Garage Door Supply
Inc. can customize your door color using a powdercoat or anodizing technology
to match your door to your facility color scheme.
Bearingless
rollers, bearing rollers... What?
Bearingless Rollers are for a
medium/low weight, low cycle door and are for areas that may have excess moisture
but a clean environment. Bearing rollers are to use with heavier and higher cycle
doors.
Why
did my salesperson spec out two different sizes of rollers?
They
did that to protect you and your customer. The longer stems are placed in the
corners of the doors to prevent door derailment. If the door is hit it won't come
out of the track and potentially hurt anyone.
